Gawain 0 #2 June 8, 2008 Nice video. Great conceptual stuff too, that you never get to "see". Hope the stuff still works...the AF Chief of Staff and Secretary of the AF just got fired two days ago because of the lost-focus of the USAF nuclear mission. That missile was originally designed to carry three reentry vehicles. Scroll to the bottom of this page and you can see some of the tracks that were photographed from tests. START II eliminated the MIRV-setup of the Minuteman III and pretty much eliminated the MX Peacekeeper (though we have not dismantled them, they're just not armed). [url "http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/usa/icbm/lgm-118.htm"Some of the pics from the MX tests are also quite impressive.[/url] I met an Air Force crew at Altus AFB last month. Their job was to fly RC-135s over Russia to verify START II/III. They also escort Russian crews that do the same. They told me that the Russians were constantly amazed at the US arsenal and set-up. Russian gear, they told me, probably couldn't hit Nevada on a clear day.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! StreetScooby 5 #3 June 8, 2008 I saw the photos of the tracks. I also saw some video of one of the MIRV tests over the Pacific. Impressive. If the upload works, one of my favorite images is attached.
