MikeForsythe 0 #1 June 9, 2008 What company offers the cheapest auto insurance?Time and pressure will always show you who a person really is!
mamajumps 0 #2 June 9, 2008 I dont always look for cheapest with auto insurance, some of the fly by night companies offer shitty shady service. I just switched from Progressive to Allstate (About 4 months ago). When I cancelled my soon to ex from the Progressive policy it sky rocketed. I pay Allstate what I was paying Progressive but just for me and they have a great safe driver bonus, for each six months you dont have an accident, you get a bonus check in the mail. Cant beat it if you ask me and their customer service is the bomb-diggity... Im very happy!
Morrison79 0 #3 June 9, 2008 It depends on so many factors that the only way you will find out who is the cheapest is to call around. I just switched from Allstate and now I have Progressive. They are about 1/2 the price of what Allstate was charging.

SarahC07 0 #6 June 9, 2008 My family receives a discount for being a long term customer with an agent with State Farm. A few years ago when I opened a policy solely under my name, the agent gave me the same discount my parents and siblings receive. I have yet to find another company that will beat my current rates. Not sure if that helps, but I really like state farm.
Vallerina 2 #7 June 9, 2008 As another poster already said, shop around. It's been awhile since I've worked on P&C pricing, but insweb.com was a decent place to start at. Most states also publish a comparative rater (ie, another good place to look to get an idea of which companies to get quotes from.) QuoteI dont always look for cheapest with auto insurance, some of the fly by night companies offer shitty shady service. For awhile, Allstate was notorious for their horrible customer service, so you can't just assume that big names = big service. Also, a lot of the unknown brands are actually owned by the big companies (hence, you get their customer service.)There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
