NWFlyer 2 #4 June 9, 2008 Quote that dog dont hunt kris Thought I'd try. I'm stuck in an airport still trying to get home from Skyfest - I need something to amuse myself. What can I say... great organizing, great vendor fair, free loads, lots of great stuff going on all day and night. I hear there was lots of partying, too, but I was being old and lame and crawling into my comfy bed in my air conditioned hotel room early so I could wake up to kick out some more skydives. The rumors are true, though. J throws a good boogie. Next time he leaves Texas, though, he needs to leave the heat there. NWFlyer 2 #7 June 9, 2008 Yes, but there's a plane at my gate now, and I have a seat on this particular plane. We're making progress. They say this one is leaving at 11:30 but since it's 11:25 and the previous passengers haven't started unloading I don't think that's happening.... RkyMtnHigh 0 #8 June 9, 2008 I hope you guys don't have to get up early for work tomorrow. I'm sure you're exhausted about now. I can't sleep on commercial flights. Hopefully you are able to depart soon, but in the meantime, glad you can entertain yourself on here _________________________________________

happythoughts 0 #14 June 9, 2008 Quote I want to hear more about the adventures with the 7 foot banana pic There are a few pics on Tony Hathaway's site. As usual, Tony took Camera-Wizard level pictures. The problem was the spot. First-out was a little before the hangar. If we got out first, it would drop in the lake (or worse, into the crowd). So, we got out last, just before the wingsuiters and it dropped into the trees. Some day, a hunter will be walking through those trees and see a 7-ft yellow banana face smiling down at him and wet his pants. Later, Turtle showed up with two new bananas and people started acting freaky.

I think the youngins will have to wait until next year to fly - can anyone say 2 way bananna load? Thta sounds WRONG!I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
happythoughts 0 #16 June 9, 2008 Quote I think the youngins will have to wait until next year to fly - can anyone say 2 way bananna load? Thta sounds WRONG! On Saturday, the hoop dive grew to 15 quickly. A guy walked up and handed me 8 tickets. We split it into 2 hoop groups. On the next jump, same thing. Our raft group grew to 16, so we decided to split it into 2 groups. We launched two rafts in sequence. [url "http://www.perrismedia.com/June%207th/Raft%20Jump/slides/IMG_9902_raw.html">raft pic by Cajones I was on the ground trying to figure out a way to fly them next to each other. It would be an awesome pic. At some point, I determined it to be a really bad idea. However, I think I could engineer a double-banana jump with the right crew. I got the idea while thinking through a different launch. I don't think most of that craziness would have worked without the right crew. Mike Wolfe is a raft pro. Roy Harper is just an excellent all-around flyer. Janine helped control the exits for me. All week, I was depending on Garth to fly any slot like a rock star. He is in a lot of pics. I got huge amounts of help from the Muff Brothers and Hellfish.

kkeenan 14 #24 June 9, 2008 Quote What about from the ceremony? The SCR Ceremony was pretty impressive. I had not seen one in several years, and it's good to see that the traditions are being upheld. There were quire a few recipients, and they were properly abused. There was one hell of a lot of beer to pour. I was surprised that there were only a few SCR holders to do the pouring. It was a really good boogie. No matter what you have heard about the heat, it was hotter than that.Kevin K. SCR 3011_____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome...
