Recommended Posts

Ill be in North Carolina the early part of next month visiting Chimney Rock. I dont know anything about the area but Id like to find a DZ in the area to make a jump or two while Im there. Does anyone know if there is a DZ that is fairly close? Thanks for your help.

I think the closest one to Chimney Rock is Flying Tigers SPC, which is 35 miles West of Greenville, SC. That will be a healthy drive from Chimney Rock, but it's the closest one I know of. http://www.flyingtigerspc.com/

Of course, you could take an extra couple of days and come on over to Raeford to see us! B| http://www.jumpraeford.com/

Chimney Rock is not that close to anywhere. You are five hours from Raeford from there, maybe 20 minutes closer to Louisburg from there, and I am not sure how close to anywhere else. That being said, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Bat Cave and all the other sights are beautiful. I was married underneath the covered bridge at Lake Lure; right next to the Magarita Grill on the little road to the Bottomless Pools. It is beautiful in the fall when the leaves are changing.

What a beautiful place to get married, Chuck! I've vacationed in that area many times. Freefalle- the Margarita Grill is the mexican biker restaurant I pm'd you about.

Dude, try Skydive Carolina (Chester). I think that will be a relatively easy drive if you get onto I-26 or I-77. Check their website at www.skydivecarolina.com for detailed directions.
Enjoy your trip in that area. I grew up about an hour from there (in SC) and it is absolutely gorgeous. Too, boogie over to the Biltmore house in Asheville...that's a MUST see!!! Colors are changing and if you drink wine, you're in for a treat...winery on site with tastings throughout the day. You HAVE to go there!!!

good luck on your trip and I'm envious!! :)
