Yossarian 0 #1 January 23, 2006 have found a rig for sale (no issues with the rig) but the main is a PD silhouette 150 with 600 jumps. as i only have 50 jumps and only around 5 jumps on a 170 (all in high winds) i dont feel qualified to jump it yet but i would like to buy whilst i have the money. the whole package -cypres is £1000, what are peoples thoughts on this canopy with 600 jumps? dragon2 2 #2 January 23, 2006 If the main is too small for you, how about the reserve? You don't mention the model and size of the most important part of the rig.... ciel bleu, Saskia
Yossarian 0 #3 January 23, 2006 reserves a 150 also, but my question really is about a hybrid main with 600 jumps on it, it could be a while before i actually use the rig but i have the money now and may not have in the future
dragon2 2 #4 January 23, 2006 If it's on its first lineset it probably needs new lines by now. The rest depends on the way it was treated and where it was jumped and packed, it may be fine it may not be. Why not have a rigger look at it before you buy? Or maybe wait altogether before you buy this rig as it's too small for you now anyway... Maybe you won't even like a 150. What do your instructors say? ciel bleu, Saskia
Yossarian 0 #5 January 23, 2006 only found it in some classifieds today so havent been to the dropzone yet, trouble is im at uni without a car so i can only get down there when someone with a car goes. the lines have been replaced recently though, and with it being a hybrid and used it will be easier to pack (something i havent quite mastered yet)
rasmack 0 #6 January 23, 2006 There will be other rigs around that fit you better. Btw if you are really going to be that short of cash, do you then have the money to jump the rig if you buy it? Also it is not free to keep a rig in the air. Repacks, inspections and the occasional repair all cost money.HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde... GravityGirl 0 #7 January 23, 2006 It's simple. This is not the right rig for you. A container that looks good and fits your budget, does not mean that it is a good deal for you. Be patient. There is a good deal out there for you. A good deal, means good safe parachutes and container that fits you, at a price you can afford. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
