BMW higher up front cost lower long term cost of ownership

Comes complete with a Ulessys club membership (POPS for motorcyclists):ph34r::ph34r:

The R1150 was a better bike.

If you want to see them in action Watch the "Long way round" or "long way down"

If i was going to do an intercontinental tour i would only do it on a Beemer or Guzzi:)

All this bike talk makes me sad :(

My baby got stolen a few months ago, still haven't replaced it yet. I'll probably wait for (southern hemisphere) spring to roll around :(

Steve you live in OZ now mate, there is no OFF SEASON, go buy a bike and insure it;)

It was insured, that's why I've got the money for the new one :D It's more laziness than anything, I hate dealing with salespeople. I need to go test riding and all that.

Hey Squeak,

Check out this site. Dave is a friend of mine that has done it all on a Harley. He is the one toughest son-of-a-bitch I have ever met.

I'm with you. I could spend weeks riding my Harley around the country.
Those silly beemers are uncomfortable!
Apparently they make you buy all those safety gear items, body armor, GPS units, more electronics than the handlebars can handle....you know the story...

That just tells me you have never riden one on the types of road/terrain they are designed for:P

I live in Florida where it's like 100 degrees on a bike most of the time.
I cannot tolerate all that stupid safety gear, it's too damn hot!

BMW factory seats are worse than Harley factory seats...and that's BAD! And the BMW's I've ridden were just uncomfortable to me. But so are crotch rockets these days and I just loved those when I was young. :|
My body is no longer in any shape for off roading of any sort. Apparently as we get older it's all about comfort!;)
