Conundrum 1 #1 June 18, 2008 I stay at home with our son and I do make some money doing graphic design and sign making, but more money never hurt anyone. I'm constantly seeing and hearing ads for "work from home using the internet!" etc etc... but are any of them actually legit and not just a scam to get your "one time fee" to join? Anyone know of any at home money makers that actually make you money?
skymama 37 #2 June 18, 2008 I posted a thread (I think last year) in the Women's forum about a segment I saw on GMA about work-at-home businesses. I believe some of them are legit. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Conundrum 1 #3 June 18, 2008 Yeah I remember reading that. I don't want to do customer service on the phone, though. It's like this thing I just saw: "send emails from home and make money! $25 per email yadda yadda"... " $one time $25 start up fee", etc. How in the hell are you supposed to know if it's legit or not? My instincts say no way, but part of me is like... well, what if...? Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.

banesanura 1 #6 June 18, 2008 From a legal stand point it is more correct to say "High Risk" as a company cannot offically state if a job is legitimate. I used to investigate fraud for shit like this. It's exteremly high risk to do anything that is work from home. Especially if there is an investment. However so is selling Mary Kay- you pay upfront for product and then make profits on what you sell. Though Mary Kay has been known as a reputiable company- MAJORITY 99% Percent of online work at home is BULLSHIT. They are targeting a niche market of people who want to spend more time with family or unable to work. Don't do it- Don't even sign up as they also use the information to sell to other companies. The US is EXTREMELY behind on enforcing laws on internet crimes. Oh and they call reselling your information "Network marketing" Stay away. Unless you like spam and telemarketers.Best Girl Scout Ever.
Butters 0 #7 June 18, 2008 Pay me XXX to start and you will earn YYY. If it works, why aren't they earning YYY instead of charging you XXX? Scams ..."That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch
FlyingJ 0 #8 June 19, 2008 I have a friend that works for himself doing grant writing/fundraising consulting and occasionally fills in his schedule researching and editing company profiles for the American Directory of Company Histories. It's rather time consuming for the $150-200 you might get for a completed and accepted profile, but is certainly a legit option.Killing threads since 2004.
