MarkM 0 #26 June 19, 2008 Went from rowing 5 times a week to every other day. I seem to have more strength for rowing this way, it works into my schedule better and I've just been upping the intensity of the workouts. Still weigh the same, which is what I want, to maintain my weight. Abs are starting to shape up some, which is motivating me to keep going. And I've been noticing I have a lot more of my strength back. Can wingsuit, canoe and walk all day long without feeling as sore and tired. Just need to keep up on what I eat. It's so hard to keep to a minimum on drinking sodas and eating lousy food. The stuff is just everywhere, everyday.

Glad to hear that consistency is paying off, and a change in your routine is yeilding better gains for you. I'm with you on the food, man. It's everywhere, every day here, too, with 10 people in our house and a BUNCH of us like to cook -and we cook cheap stuff that is awesome comfort food, but not healthy AT ALL!! So what hurts the worst when you're done with one of those? I rode a really messed up, broken down mountain bike into town the other day and back and I just couldn't decide what hurt the worst when I got home! It will surprise you, but: my eyes. When I got done, they were totally bloodshot with a dried crust of years around them. I was awake most of the night because of the burning and itching. I think the problem is that the new photochromic shades I'm using have those stylish small lenses that arc over the top of the cheekbone, as opposed to the old ones I had used for years, which were a much larger and looked a lot like ski goggles. The CO air is so dry and dusty, that you need protection from the wind, and not just the sun. I'm going back to the old ones. I don't know about CO with allergens, but bombarding yourself with wind that has allergen floating around in it might heighten an allergy. You might also consider taking a tiny bottle of eye drops with you to keep them lubricated. I had the same type of issue for about 3 years after an eye surgery, and I had a little bottle of drops absolutely everywhere. If I forgot, I'd have pretty much the same problem you're describing from letting them get too dry. Sounds like you'll fix the sunglass issue too, I hope that helps take care of it.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
