UKKid35 1 #1 June 19, 2008 I'm looking to rent a room from the 22nd August as the Bunkhouse at Skydive Space Centre is no more. All suggestions welcome Thanks! Paul
skymama 37 #2 June 19, 2008 Will they let you jump there? Last I heard, you needed a C license to jump there. Maybe things have changed though. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
UKKid35 1 #3 June 19, 2008 I guess I better check, but I've stayed there and jumped there several times before over the last seven years. Thanks for the heads up
skymama 37 #4 June 19, 2008 Maybe it won't be a problem for you if they're familiar with you. Sorry I'm not more help. If you were coming to DeLand, then I could help! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

But I've just been told by them that exceptions are made if you have already jumped with them.

Good, because I will visit DeLand, since there's no bunkhouse at Titusville, so no point in me staying there the whole time. My only reservation is that the last time I visited DeLand I watched a girl with the same experience as me break her shoulder in gusty conditions, as the jump limit seemed to lenient. Obviously I'm responsible for my own safety, but I would be relying on the DZ's guidance.

Were you both on student status then? I never jump in gusty winds, not because the dz tells me not to but just because it doesn't seem like a smart decision to me.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
jimmytavino 16 #8 June 23, 2008 regarding jumping in winds..... most dz's will not dictate whether YOU, or ME or anyone should get on the manifest... they will only go on a HOLD,, when things get to a certain wind speed, which can vary from place to place... you are wise to pay attention, and use good judgement in this regard.. if your profile is accurate you seem to average less than 10 jumps per year.... and so a bit of extra care is certainly called for.... have fun stay safe, err on the side of caution... enjoy your visit... jmy
