I've had this happen to me when the clerk thinks there is a problem with the credit card machine, and they keep swiping the card multiple times. It turns out the machine was working okay, and each swipe generated a separate charge. Then there's laser scanner computer code errors, where I got charged $5.49 for a half-gallon of milk yesterday, which was the price for a full gallon. YM4 0 #10 June 25, 2008 Hello Everyone, I think this is a very personal thing that should'nt be posted just for fun, I received an email this morning about this and immediately checked and it was exactly what has happened before. The machine gives a communication error so I process again untill it goes thru. At the end the only amount being debited is the one that really passed. Its proven in the settlement. People that own CC machines know that this can happen. I personally excuse myself for this. But I do not need to take this. It would have been easier to call me and let me know what was happening. I found the original post funny and I would suspect other people reading it knew that there was an unintentional error involved. However, I find it surprising that an apology for the incident wasn't given. Instead a the follwing statement was posted. " But I do not need to take this." Like I said, I found that type of response surprising given the circumstances.Think of how stupid the average person is and realize that statistically half of them are stupider than that.
