Meet the New Corporate Masters . . .

Recommended Posts

It was inevitable, the amount of money this site uses a month in bandwidth alone, not including the servers, is staggering.

Well, this is the third major evolution. The first was the addition of forums (before my time). The second was the major site change and upgrade of the forums to the current software in 2001. Now this.

Maybe they'll bring back the posting ranks.:P

I would like to see a list of sites they own and see how they are run and moderated.

Here's a list from http://namemedia.com/adventure:

Craftster.org
photo.net
geek.com
Mommy.com
Cats.com
Tarot.com
Photography.com
Cycling.com
Boating.com
Yachting.com
DavesGarden.com
HotCars.com
TheTruthAboutCars.com
DreamWheels.com

As one of the rockclimbers said..."namemedia = party animals for sure" :P

Edit to add: I went to several of those site, and they're in Beta 1.0...with about 4 or 5 threads and still-to-be-developed depth of content.

Also, visiting geek.com yielded me not, one, but two pop-ups...:|...though one was one of those embedded ads, the other was a survey thingy...who knows.

photo.net has some cool stuff on it.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

:D:D:D I caught the same thing as I was reading through. It's a righteous complaint though :)
Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.

So, does anyone want to go raid one of these sites and add some life to it? Most of these sites look brand-spanking-new...some of our threads have more messages in them than these sites have in their entirety... ;)

I hope that our login accounts work over there like they dom on RC & BASE - could be some fun times on their forums...... till we get banned.
