bodypilot1 0 #2 January 15, 2006 Best to show them to a rigger BEFORE you jump it again. Be safe Edwww.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
redramdriver 0 #3 January 15, 2006 Quote Best to show them to a rigger BEFORE you jump it again. And have the rigger show YOU how to fix them yourself..fairly simple procedure. glad to see you noticed them before you had a toggle come free. Be safe EdSo, you bring your beer? GravityGirl 0 #4 January 15, 2006 If he has a knot, it is doubtfull that the toggles will come off. That is if they are properly attached. But the excess hanging out can cause a hesitation or minor snag through the ring. At flare time, that might mean that one side hesitates just long enough to induce a turn that is not desired on landing. Grue, do you have a finger trapping tool? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
johnny1488 1 #5 January 15, 2006 This is why I am a fan of finger trapping the line BEFORE you make the knot, and the fingertrap will never come out like has happened with yours. See if your rigger will make the loop in this way and you wont have the problem again. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" I've tried no-sew fingertraps and gone back to previous methods. Whatever method you use, the running end which you'd like to stay inside frequently winds up poking out. Some jumpers can live with that, but most want it trimmed off. With the no-sew method, there's a limit to how much you can trim off before the the locking part is affected, and I don't want to find out exactly what that limit is.
