They're one hell of a lot more prone to it than non BASE jumpers!



Okay, maybe "prone" is a bad word choice, but it's certainly an additional danger that BASE jumpers face which is not a problem with traditional skydiving. In that respect, it's a true statement.



Except the author did use the word prone and didn't compare it to skydiving. In that respect, it's a false statement.



Skydiving was #5 on the list, and BASE was #6. Therefore, by the time you're reading the BASE synopsis, you have already read the regular skydiving snippet, and have that as background info. Therefore, the BASE info *is* in comparison to skydiving.

So, what all the fuss seems to be about is the use of the word "prone". No big deal. He's a whuffo. We're used to whuffos describing our sport inadequately. It's expected. No one should be getting upset about this or taking it as a personal affront.
