Leapinglizardto 0 #1 July 8, 2008 1st I wondered, if one of you can help me with, relocating the web site or order info for the 'skydiving frogs' frisbee one of you had started a thread on, last month. I still want one so bad. the 2nd is this, I started with my 1st two jumps at my local dz. Since I still have a LONG way to go, before I'm no longer under student status, but wish to try other dzs in my general area. As long has I carry & present my papers/certificate with me to other dzs, it all still counts toward my training & goal right? or would I need to retake, the 4 hr. pre-jump class, at any new dz I wish to visit. I don't recall this being mentioned in class, but then again I was so psyched & tuned-in to the exciting stuff & actual safety training info being said, it probably was & I missed it. IN ONE» »THE OTHER I'm afraid to admit this to my instructor, because a) He'll never let me live it down, & b) it'll probably cost me a lot more next visit, to get myself off 'the bust 'em on her without mercy' list. I've spent enough time at the dz now, even when not jumping, to know the drill Newbie on the block = Our 'bitch' the skygods & skydivas have ALL the power, us lowly peasants ZERO. Seriously, if you are training at a DZ where you are treated like a lowly peasant who has to "bow down" to the skygods and goddesses, maybe you should look for another dz to complete your training. No student or newbie should be treated the way you just described. But IF your post was tongue in cheek, I would recommend that you try to complete your training at one dz if at all possible. You'll develop a rapport with your instructors, they'll know you and your flying style, etc. Depending on where you are taking your log book and wanting to make a student jump, the DZ may or may not require you to sit through ground school all over again and start at level one. That's their right- they don't know you and want the jump to be as safe as possible for you and the instructor. I expect to be busted on @ the dz, as long as I know its all just in good hearted-fun. & as long as it is, it makes the experiences that much more enjoyable. I usually have a pretty good sense of humor myself. & besides paybacks a Bitch! I completely understand your point of the possibility, of an another dz wanting me to sit through class again IF, I were to follow through on the urge to roam out of curiosity. But since you mentioned it, it makes much more sense to stick with one dz until I'm more experienced. just a bit of a bummer, that it means I may not be able to get in some jumps, if & when I decide to take any of my 4 wks vac. I have coming, near another dz this summer/fall. thank you very much tigra, for taking time to share your good advice & opinions with me. Blue skies.
