ACMESkydiver 0 #1 July 4, 2008 I know few of us hit our original goals 90 days ago, but I can at least say that I am lower than I have been in the past few years as to weight. So that's pretty good I think. My body fat % is down 13% from last year, if you believe my scale thingy! I have been more consistent in my workout habit, so that's good too. Haven't been to the gym yesterday and won't today either. I'm not feeling well. But anyhoo, I'm doing well choosing what I eat, and if I splurge, not to make a whole day of it (or even a whole meal of it -I had a braut at the races last night, but no ice cream or soda or mochas or anything else. Just needed some protein and that was the best they had ). So I'm feeling confident that I'm over the hump and the next 30 pounds will start coming off in the next few weeks. How did all of you do?~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
skymama 37 #2 July 4, 2008 I've been renovating my new house and knocking down walls in addition to my morning workouts. I'm now 5 pounds from where I was in high school when I was a swimmer. I was pretty excited when I saw that this morning. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
TheAnvil 0 #3 July 5, 2008 My foot is almost better. Knocked out some badass power yoga yesterday and did legs and back today. Might go for a short run tomorrow if the foot feels good. Glad to hear that it's getting better for ya. I'm going to do my REALLY hard lower body workout tape when Joe and his brother and brother in law get back here with the rest o' the kids. They saw 'Hancock'. Didn't mention if it was good or not, but they're on their way home now. I need them to watch the twin boys so I can workout.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
MrFreefall383 0 #6 July 6, 2008 Didn't work out yesterday, was messcooking all day, then got tasked with night ops on the 47 for the fireworks. Talk about a perfect day. Dirty dishes during daylight hours, chaperoning Joe Boater so he doesn't blow his face off with pyrotechnics in the twilight hours. Couldn't have celebrated July 4th any better. As for today, was messcooking all day again, but with a far easier cook. And she's kind of cute. But she's recently divorced with a restraining order on the guy and a 1.5 year old daughter with him. Her daughter's cute as a button though, I got to play with her a few times throughout the day, and got to hold her for a little while. That rocked my socks. So I was pretty motivated to workout tonight, and decided to polish my Oxfords for my comms board tomorrow, and someone dumped a bucket of water on me from the roof, soaking the shoes. Let's just say that got me even more motivated. So I jumped into my workout gear, went to the weight room and busted my ass for an hour on the weights, then went outside and ran some agility drills on the helo pad and almost got run down by the station's mountain bike and some jackass who decided it would be a funny idea to run me down while I was doing crossover steps. Lots of growing up to do around this station. But at least I didn't miss more than a day of workouts. ACMESkydiver 0 #7 July 6, 2008 Interesting couple of days for ya. I still haven't got mine in today. ?I was sick to my stomach -real queazy and weak, no idea WTH is going on. And now everyone left me with the twins again to go play tennis. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
NWFlyer 2 #8 July 6, 2008 Quote My body fat % is down 13% from last year, if you believe my scale thingy! Nice! Are you getting consistent readings in that range? Then yes, I'd say believe your scale thingy! (Now, if you just got that number once ... believe the number that you get consistently). That's a great indicator that you're making progress. Me... I'm continuing to go to the gym regularly. Started PT on Thursday, and am doing my home exercises and icing every day. Eating's been kind of up and down lately, but strangely I think adding in a little junk food caused the scale to move... down. We'll see, could be a one-week blip but my pants were seeming kinda loose so I hopped on this morning out of curiosity. Dressed for the gym this morning - after breakfast and all I'll head down there for some good cardio and lower body strength stuff (I'm leaving upper body to the PT for now)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. I've said that for three days but then started feeling sick again. I'm ok this morning. Some of those blah symptoms, but I can still work through them and it might help.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. tigra 0 #10 July 7, 2008 I don't know if this counts as progress or not, but this weekend at the DZ there were a lot of people there who haven't been out in years. One man I used to jump with quite a bit walked past me several times without recognizing me. I guess I do look pretty different these days- and not in a bad way .......... I no longer really trust my insult-o-meter scale as far as my body fat % goes- it still shows me with a high %, but its a lot lower when my trainer checks with the calipers (still in the high normal range so I know I have a way to go yet......) Its actually about time for him to check again now that I am thinking about it! Oh and I got on a 20 way this weekend with some new state POPs record holders. My back is sore today from all that arching!

eeneR 3 #13 July 7, 2008 I beat my own ass this morning and it felt good! I slacked off last week due to a horrendous work schedule. I worked every single muscle today good and hard by circuiting the muscle groups. Do shoulders then hamstrings then chest then abs. Do a set of one the move right on to the other not stopping. I did 3 different rotations 3 sets each covering everything. It felt good! Dunno what my numbers are at the moment as I didn't have time to weigh in this morning, but I am down 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks! I have also had to increase the resistance on the elliptical to get my heart rate to stay high enough too! Progress is good. I am hoping to start feeling more change over the next month or so as I have only been back working out for a month, so things are still wonky weight wise. Having settled into a routine it should start to all fall off. MrFreefall383 0 #14 July 7, 2008 Working out regularly again, wrote up a new fitness plan last night for the rest of this week, and it's really aggressive. If I make it out of this week without anything hurting too much, I'll be very surprised. And I'm going to submit my plan on the CG form to the CO, and see if I can push him for the HPC position. Another benefit I have going for me is that despite the delays to my qualification as a watchstander due to station maintenance duties and lazy shipmates, I still managed to take and pass my communications watchstander board last night and impressed my BM1. The CO's going to know it because my qualification paperwork passes his desk before I get to stand watch alone, so I'm bound to be on everyone's A-list within a few days. Which also means I can safely put in for a leave chit for my August break and hopefully nobody will think twice about it. Nightingale 0 #18 July 7, 2008 Yeah, I know. Gotta splurge once in a while. I don't keep food in my house anymore, except for the stash of emergency food that I wouldn't want to eat except for an emergency. That way, I have to go out to get food, and consciously think about what I'm getting so I don't end up nibbling an entire box of jordan almonds at home. MrFreefall383 0 #19 July 8, 2008 Today was a mid-weight conditioning day, with some dips, pullups, pushups, flutterkicks and crunches mixed in there for good measure. I definitely have to get in more dips, pullups and pushups though, because they all suck. Definitely making forward progress everywhere else though, so I'm still happy."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche
