sdctlc 0 #1 January 13, 2006 I have seen a number of units that come up that fall into the category like the one noted on E-bay at this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Cypres-Skydive-Skydiving-Sky-dive-AAD-No-Reserve_W0QQitemZ7211331331QQcategoryZ106980QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I had heard at some point that if you buy a cypress that needs both 4 and 8 year service, you will get charged for both services. Basically a way to prevent someone from skipping a service level. I am not sure that the 4 and 8 year checks are different and if not do they just check it and charge double, basically a penalty for not bowingdown to the 4 year check rule. I dont remember exactly where I heard it but it is stickinhg in my head so I am pretty sure it is the case. I just trying to confirm for my own knowledge. If it's ture, is it noted on the SSK page, I looked but did notsee it after a quick look? You would think a warning should be noted about this to someone spending too much on a unit that needs both 4 and 8 year checks as it might not end up being such a good deal after all.... You were half way to finding your answer when you looked on the SSK web page. Finish your own research by looking near the bottom of that home page in an area marked "contact information" for their telephone number (here's an assist...it's listed as 513-934-3201) then call SSK directly. The best source of information is the manufacturer, and that's especially true when a question begins with "I've heard that" and ends with "is it true?" .Tom Buchanan Instructor Emeritus Comm Pilot MSEL,G Author: JUMP! MrBrant 0 #3 January 13, 2006 if/when you do call, post their answer here. I'm curious about this (as, I'm sure, many other people are)

Tom, I feel like I just had my peepee slapped and I have to say that is funny! Just got off the phone with them and what I was talking about previously for a double charge according to Eric "WAS" the case. Then they moved to "full price on one and 1/2 price on the other" and now they only charge for the one service and get the unit up to date.... Guess I should have just done it myself but hell, it gave me a good question to clarify on the web... Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
