Resizing an articulated harness

Recommended Posts

Is resizing an articulated harness as simple as having the manufacturer install a different length of web between the chest and hip rings on the container?

As well, how would one measure to find the proper length for this modification. (I'm assuming that all that is needed is that a longer/ shorter length of web is required to put the hip ring in it's proper position)

not sure what's involved, but it is do-able. i mis-measured myself when i ordered my new rig :$ and had to send it back to get resized. to find out what you need, go to a gear shop if at all possible and have them measure you.

Yes and no. One thing to consider is the length of the yoke. If its way too big or to small for you then you will never get a proper fit no matter what you do to the harness.

That may be only half of what may be needed. If you have a properly fitting MLW but your lateral is too small or too big the rig will not fit well. If too small, you will feel like your belly is pushed too far forward when under canopy. If too big, then you will "fall" backwards into the harness under canopy and possibly get a chest strap in the throat
What type of rig are you talking about? different manufactures measure differently

Good answer, covers all of the bases.
