When you're ready to go alone, take the week-and-a-half-long Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course, where you'll learn to pack your own chute, and then, in nine jumps, land in water and execute basic group dives.
-- Just me but where the hell is AFF taught like that? I love the so called 'experts' who write articles and mangle most of the facts. Like someone said here.. Why ask for input if you are going to write your own. Good to see it is not related to anything bad though.

Most of the time, it seems to come from two things.
The reporter needs to get a consensus of what the facts are, because some people are wrong.
Also, people ramble on and on. Remember the tv viewers attention span.

So, they talk to people for 3 hours at the dz and then distill that down to 4 minutes. Then, they stand near the most attractive woman while she puts on her gear and tape their 4 minute segment.

If people want more air time, they need to be concise (not my strength ;)}. Think of a few two line answers to common questions.
If they ask, "What is skydiving like?", don't give them a 20 minute dissertation.
(I use, "It feels like floating on a raft in a pool." Short and easy to relate to. Gets quoted every time.)

Out of context quote-That's what I told her about coming to my hotel room.

Actually, I think she did a good job considering where the story was originally going and where it ended up.
