NewGuy2005 53 #1 July 19, 2008 Went on vacation this week and set the recorder to record a week's worth of new episodes of my kids' favorite show. Confirmed that the setting to record was good. Came back today and found that the only episode that was there was the one that was recorded today. The previous 4 are gone. The DVR is a Motorola that we rent from our cable provider. (Cox) The setting was to "Erase as needed." That might be the problem, but I don't think the hard drive was full. Regardless, we changed the setting to "save until manually deleted by user" just in case. Any idea why the shows were deleted? Any idea how to recover them? Leapinglizardto 0 #2 July 19, 2008 Not sure about your cable carrier but mine, in select regions allows a view of recently deleted, programs & undeleting them. But if you had it set to 'delete or erase as needed' normally even if drive was full, it would have started with erasing the oldest programs stored. so it sounds to me as though it never recorded them at all. is there a possible conflict with other programs/channels sched. to be recorded at the same time?It's pretty pathetic when you have to TELL people you're fucking cool Skymama «narrative»This thread will lock in 3..2..
