Modify - Body Modification Documentary

Recommended Posts

Annie and I just got through watching this and found it very interesting (albeit graphic at times).

Anyone else seen this?

Some pretty interesting stuff out there. It did make me want to start my 2nd sleeve (and my first isn't even done yet :D)

ps: Its on netflix for those who haven't and want to ;)

I had to check the dates when it was made. There was a party on there that I was sure I was at!

I think it was the previous year, same event though.

Still, some interesting historical stuff there. Lots of interviews with various people in various forms of body modification (including body building).

Not for the squeamish though :)

Yeah, I doubt that I could get Rich to watch it with me. He had to look away during "Sick," when Bob nailed his penis to the board.

This has a lot more that'll make him look away then.

Personally, I didn't find 'Sick' all that gruesome. I did find the man's life really interesting though :)

I haven't seen the movie but I personally know people in the body mod scene... its quite interesting...but its also dangerous (with blood) especially during suspension acts- blood drips all over their backs when they start wiggling and throwing themselves at the crowd.

I've had surface piercings in my sternum- neck and collars- All formed keyloids and had to be removed.

There is a piercing convention that goes on in las vegas every year done by the Association of Professional Piercers

http://www.safepiercing.org/ Check it out- there is A LOT that goes on there...

Go for the second sleeve and let us know how it turns out!!!

Or even better go for a PA piercing ;)

LOL, not likely. Piercings aren't my thing (just my eyebrow that I'm considering getting a 2nd one next to).

Tattoo's on the otherhand....those are definitely my thing.

BTW, I met, and got to chat with, Allen Falkner in 06 at an event in Miami area after his suspension show - really nice guy, and a really good show.

Sounds interesting. Bill and I have watched a couple hour-long docs on body modifcations in different cultures that were intriguing.

I wish I had some profound reasoning for getting both my tats, but I don't.

I havent, but I have remained on the edge of the mod scene for most of my life. I find what is good for me and I indulge or I dont. I have an idea of my next piece which i know will take many sittings. I dont know if i will ever come up with the ida that will be what i want on my body for the rest of my life.
I have to be certain. that takes a while for me.

My mods are for me. and I like it that way. B|
