skydiver30960 0 #3 July 26, 2008 Hell no. And too bad, too. Might do us some good. I'm a trauma ICU RN. The overwhelming majority of the people who end up in my care are involved in MVC's. I'm a skydiver. I'm a volunteer firefighter. I'm a rescue squad volunteer. I play ice hockey. I SCUBA dive. My wife is a salesperson who spends eight hours a day driving. I keep telling her that it's more likely that I'm going to get the dreaded telephone call from the ER (as opposed to her getting it about me), but she never seems to believe me. There isn't a doubt in my mind it's true. It's not that she's a bad driver, she just spends her whole day in the line of fire. BillyVance 35 #6 July 27, 2008 Quote Here (from UK): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvlkTO8bsWs Would it ever make it on American TV? Churches across the US stage faked accidents for teens to scare them straight, especially in the spring, before prom season. I watched one. Good production to have. This video is pretty well done. I'd like to see it on TV here, but of course the media moguls don't think it would be appropriate. Just going with the averages, your wife IS correct. If she's in a modern car with the seat belt on, her odds are FAR better than yours anytime you're either sky or scuba diving.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skydiverek 63 #9 July 27, 2008 Quote Not a chance. we're still trying to recover from seeing Janet Jackson's barely exposed nipple a few years ago. That's what I meant. In Eurpe, whe have LESS murders on TV, and MORE tits Another thing is all the politically correct commercials that annoyed me. They all seemed to be "safe", "sterile", "dancing around the issue", "made for everyone". Can you imagine the below commercial on the US TV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaEKEzPJGBc
BillyVance 35 #10 July 27, 2008 You really have to watch it all the way to the end. "Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

lawrocket 3 #12 July 27, 2008 I'm amazed they'd show such violence on television there. In the US, you can show some graphic violence but no graphic sex. My wife is hotter than your wife.

lawrocket 3 #15 July 28, 2008 SHowing boobies to Congressmen? Here's the likely response: Congressman No. 1: "Hmmm. I didn't have to pay for these. And these are new ones, and not staffers. Perhaps the Madame is giving me a freebie for sales purposes. I'll call her and request the one in red." COngressman No. 2: "I'll have the Capitol Police get information on all the protestors. I'll offer a 'desk position' to the one on the right." Congressman No. 1: "I'll have to make a stern statement about how horrible this is and how such a showing of fine melons is deplorable. THen I'll called call the Madame." My wife is hotter than your wife.
jtval 0 #16 July 28, 2008 Quote Can you imagine the below commercial on the US TV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PaEKEzPJGBc Ya know, I would bet that most of the USians would laugh their asses off at that. Problem is that the fat old white people (Gov't) are afriad they would lose their power if they spoke freely and honestly. FCC- would propose that commercial would promote adultery and lack of work ethic. Maybe my eyes have only been open for the last few years (16 or so) but I didn't think the fat old white people were so corrupt until I was old enough to understand just how deep their hypocricy runs. Ok, I gotta stop before this goes to SC.My photos My Videos

kbordson 8 #20 July 28, 2008 I've actually been thinking about both the speeding and the seatbelt commercial . . . . Thoughts on the speeding: 1. As noted above, DONT SWERVE. 2. Even if going 5-10mph less, would the vehicle still have lost control? 3. Tragic chain of events. . . . but to blame all of the accident on the driver seems wrong. Chance and fate had some role, so not all of it was the drivers "fault". . . but still very very sad. Thoughts on the seatbelt commercial: 1.DAMN! He took HOW MANY of them out! That's some careful billiards there! 2. OK... so I should wear my seatbelt only when there are others in the vehicle? 3. Why wasn't this an anti speeding commercial, cuz that was the real "fault," wasn't it? (see above)

Shotgun 1 #24 July 28, 2008 Quote2. OK... so I should wear my seatbelt only when there are others in the vehicle? I don't think that was the point. It's not much fun to bounce around like that even without anyone else in the car. But I think the point was that you are not putting only yourself in danger by not wearing a seatbelt.
