happythoughts 0 #4 July 31, 2008 There is an old joke that goes: "I was hunting in Africa and shot a lion in my pajamas." "What was a lion doing in your pajamas?" Along these lines... Todays headlines- bear "Man hits bear on motorcycle" Now, I ask you... what was that bear doing on the motorcycle? Are there helmet laws in Vermont? Will the helmet cover the little bear ears? And... why did that man strike the bear? Isn't there enough violence in the world? It's just a disturbing news day.
ryoder 1,590 #5 July 31, 2008 Quote"Man hits bear on motorcycle" Well, the bears in VT must have more disposable income, because here in CO, people only collide with bears on bicycles: http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2008/jun/26/bicyclist-going-45-mph-hits-bear-boulder-county/ Getting back to the deer problem, watch what happens at 1:45 in this video shot on Lookout Mountain just West of Golden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUxkJA3HkNk"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. You see? Even the bears fear the exploding deer population. The deer are arrogant also. Last week, I was rollerblading and a deer stepped onto the skatepath and just stood there looking at me. I missed him by about 3 feet. Good thing for him, Florida deer aren't known for their size. I had a good 60 lbs on him. I could of taken him down.
