amy 0 #1 January 2, 2006 Does anyone know offhand when Parachutes de France got TSO certification for the Atom? Specifically, I'm wondering whether an Atom manufactured in 1995 is TSO'd. Also, was the techno reserve ever TSO'd? I'm interested in the same manufacture year. Thanks, Amy

riggerrob 643 #3 January 3, 2006 Back in the old days, Parachutes de France built stuff udner the French EQ ??? standard, which required pull testing, etc. tougher than the American TSO standard. Parachutes de France even TSO'd some of their gear more than a decade ago, but circa 1990 they decided that American lawyers were way too scary and they quit selling to to North American market. Now that the European Joint Ariworthiness Administration has adopted TSO C-23D for parachutes, P. de F. gear should be back under a TSO approval. Administrative changes notwithstanding, Parachutes de France has always sewn decent gear that gave the Americans a run for their money.
