ACMESkydiver 0 #1 July 28, 2008 I didn't workout Friday figuring I'd get some great workouts in over the weekend. Puked on the way down to Portland Saturday morning migraine followed, and I was just F*CKED UP all weekend (in a bad way), so no workouts at all. Today I got back into it with my fast 30's routine (30 reps light weight as fast as you can all the way down the line), cardio, repeat. Not bad. Not great, but not bad. How are all y'all doing? ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
aresye 0 #2 July 29, 2008 Got a new personal record on CrossFit's "Fran" today. For time: 21, 15, 9 reps of: 95lb Barbell Thruster Pullups A barbell thruster is when you have the bar at chest level. Squat down, then stand up while pushing the bar over your head in an explosive movement. When I first did this workout, I got like 12:30. A few weeks ago I just broke 10min. Today I scored a 7:37. One of my instructors at my command, can do this in under 3min!Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.
tigra 0 #3 July 29, 2008 I did not work out all weekend, and I felt really tired today but I made myself go to the gym instead of straight home. I saw my trainer and he gave me enoug motivation to give myself a decent workout tonight. 30 minutes cardio, plus crunches and lower body weight training. Not bad ............. RkyMtnHigh 0 #4 July 29, 2008 Hiked up Flagstaff yesterday. Sat on the rocks at the top and took in the beautiful panoramic view. I've been doing day hikes as many days each week as possible. I enjoy the outdoors much more than exercising in a gym. _________________________________________

Maybe cathing a bug or just over-do it? Glad you got in what you could instead of totally blowing it off. That IS a victory. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
ACMESkydiver 0 #7 August 1, 2008 Quote Hiked up Flagstaff yesterday. Sat on the rocks at the top and took in the beautiful panoramic view. I've been doing day hikes as many days each week as possible. I enjoy the outdoors much more than exercising in a gym. I do too! Rarely get the time, but I do enjoy it! That looks like it would have been so peaceful...D'oh! Forgot to post my stuff...29th I did a lower body workout at the gym on my own with some eliptical and treadmill thrown in there...but stupid ol' Jaye forgot to stretch before, during, or after... so everything is STILL sore today. Yesterday no workout. I had bid-ness to attend to all day long and long into the night, and to be honest I was good with taking a day off anyhoo. Last night I got 1 solid hour of sleep...owing to my own horrid insomnia from worry (it's amazing how a single sentence can keep one up all night ) and little Derick's sleep disorder that had him flying high at 4am. So I blew off the 9:30am class and opted to sleep for 2 hours instead. I NEEDED that. I ended up going to a really tough step and lift (mostly lift, not much step! ) tonight at 6pm, and it felt grrrrreat.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. RkyMtnHigh 0 #8 August 1, 2008 It'd be awesome if you and your family could come to Colorado and do some hiking. There are a lot of easy day hikes. I just did Royal Arch a few days ago. _________________________________________
MrFreefall383 0 #9 August 4, 2008 Haven't worked out much in the last couple weeks. I've run maybe once or twice, done some lifting and ab work, and that's about it. Life here at the station has gone to hell in a handbasket. We've lost a bunch of qualified people to stupid things, so we're short-handed in a big way, and SAR season is in full swing so there's almost never a duty period without half a dozen cases. Needless to say, I've gotten very little sleep lately, and been working so hard I'm surprised I haven't bought the farm yet. But I've got 5 days of leave starting tomorrow afternoon, so I'm going to work out like crazy and come back telling my department head he can kiss my ass if I can't stay in shape."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche
tigra 0 #10 August 4, 2008 I haven't worked out since Tuesday because of Summerfest- sort of a lame excuse actually since there is a workout room on the DZ that I have yet to take advantage of ............. I had a fun long weekend, probably drank too much but I also rode my bike instead of a car or golfcart pretty much everywhere on and around the DZ. Anyway, I'm back on track starting tonight. I borrowed a better fitting jumpsuit from a friend- I don't want to get too comfortable flying a baggy suit and I'm not quite ready to buy a new one right now. I've never worn an intentionally "fast" tight fitting suit before- kind of interesting and I will get used to it! Oh yeah- last week Monday? No bug or anything, just dragging and a bit of PMS. The workout really helped but I did kind of have to force myself to go. I usually have a bit of an energy drain around that time....... (Sorry if that's an "overshare" for the guys!) guppie01 0 #11 August 4, 2008 Started Beach Boot Camp today and I feel like I've been beat! I was actually sore, and limping along within 2 hours afterwards. The knee is a bit swollen, but I iced it and it feels alright. We'll see how it feels tonight. ACK! g"Let's do something romantic this Saturday... how bout we bust out the restraints?"
