jloirsdaan 0 #1 December 30, 2005 Okay I bought a new rig for the wifey. Paid $1400.... Main is a Triathlon 160 ~600 jumps DOM is 1997 Reserve is a swift ~160 with 0 rides DOM is 1996 Container is Javelin J2 DOM 1992 with 800 jumps. I know no one can say for sure without looking at it and inspecting it...but in general what are peoples thoughts on the price?? I'll post pictures also. Just wanted to see if I got a good price (too late now...already bought it ) Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
justinb138 0 #2 December 30, 2005 Looks good, but: Get hard cutaway housings, and fix the RSL routing (If it is indeed routed under the front reserve riser and to the outside - looks like it is in the picture). Edit: nevermind on the housings,it just looks like one of the cables is just sticking out on my odd monitor.
70sdiver 0 #3 December 30, 2005 Its hard for me to tell if it has hard housings mine didnt and it was mnf in 1992 i had sunpath put them in and they also put a nice flap for bridle protectin on it too.Nice lookin rig but id get hard housings installed if they arnt already. pincheck 0 #4 December 30, 2005 take it to a rigger and get it fully checked over Billy-Sonic Haggis Flickr-Fun
skybytch 273 #5 December 30, 2005 Assuming nothing needs repair I'd figure the container to be worth $300-400, main $500-ish and about the same for the reserve. Not a bad deal at all. Only question I'd have would be is it Cypres ready (containers built in '92 didn't come Cypres ready from the factory, but it's a pretty simple retrofit for a master rigger to do). jloirsdaan 0 #6 December 30, 2005 I have an 89 Javelin....with God knows how many jumps on it....a 89 glidepath maverick reserve with 3 jumps on it....and the main I bought from a friend is a 96 sabre with 220ish jumps on it (i've put like 150 on since). I spent about $1000 total on that rig. Her gear was a little more expensive....but its cypress ready....has newer canopies all around, etc. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft. jloirsdaan 0 #8 December 30, 2005 She's actually training with a rigger right now...looking to get her rating. He's out of town until the 9th....but as soon as he gets back we're going to have him go over it completely. Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
jloirsdaan 0 #9 December 30, 2005 Okay, got it in the mail today. Got her a jumpsuit too....thought it was going to be a run down POS jumpsuit that'd do the trick for a hundred or so jumps....turns out its actually really NOICE!! Only paid $50 for it!! Still haven't got the main, it was mailed separately. I think she looks really good in it! Jordan Go Fast, Dock Soft.
