Doesn't have to be. :)do you have? Bikes are just fun.

How does your wife feel about the motorcycle? Does she ride, too?

she has her own bike (also italian )

We both Ride Moto Guzzi motorbikes, hers is a new(ish) Breva 750 fuel injected. Mine ia a LeMans 1000 (V) 1988 model.

I ride and rebuild old school bikes, with a particular penchant for CAFE Racers:)

When i was there in January i guy offered me $12,000.00 for it, so I said sure :)I'll rebuild that bike when I get back from my World Trip :)

I'd say you made a good deal on that one! :)
So, I looked up cafe racers and now I know what they are but I don't know what kind of bikes are usually in this category. Do tell!

Many bikes can be Cafe'd, they are ussually stripped to bare essentials, naked bikes, with clip-on or drop down bars.. they also tend to have work up motors and LOUD exhausts B|
Do a Google Image search you will find lots of different types:)
2 good examples

A Moto Guzzi Similar to the one I built
a Yamaha XRS

Oh, I see. How did you get interested in those?

I grew up in the 60-70 around them, have always loved them

and 99% of what comes out now days is soul-less.
Dont get me wrong the modern bikes are very well built and run brilliantly, but they dont get my heart beating like an old school V Twin, does, Icluding Guzzi, Old Ducatis, and even some Hardlys;)

I never knew that about you. Aren't the Guzzis supposed to be Harley-like, anyway? And what do you think about the MV Agusta sale? Is that good or bad?

That's a time will tell thing.

Harley have made some VERY good business decisions over the last 10-15 years so it might just be a smart move.
I do know that they wanted a higher profile in Europe and the MV/Cagiva buy might give them that.

funny...I was always partial to them as well.

Here's one of the 3 GPz 750's I had.
THAT was a fun bike....comming out of a corner, rear wheel smoking rubber, front end coming off the ground, frame twisting ever so slightly...ahhh...
