AggieDave 6 #26 August 8, 2008 Quotet's like putting an American flag sticker on your Jap import subcompact....some things just ain't right. My old Chevy truck that I sold a few months ago was made in Mexico. My jap bike (kawasaki) was made in Nebraska. That "American made" HD is mostly made in Mexico. Its a strange and fantastic world we live in. I love it when someone on a HD bitches to me about "American made." Kawasaki America made jobs in the US and made my bike, HD have sent them outside the US boarders. If you like the bike, great, if you don't like it, great. Eitherway, your bike is no better than mine and quit trying to preach to me like some crazed baptist.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." normiss 897 #27 August 8, 2008 I would take "some crazed baptist" as quite a PA. I've not "preached" to you about anything. I'm sorry if you feel that my expressing my opinion in a fairly public place is aimed at you, but I can't help that. In fact if you'll READ this thread, I never even responded to you. I happen to like my American made motorcycle - made in three separate American cities even. I'm glad you like yours as well. My last Chevy product was made in Canada, but the profits of an American company stay in the American economy - or at least they did when they actually made a profit! I still wouldn't place an American flag on a foreign company's product - but I guess that's me.
AggieDave 6 #28 August 8, 2008 QuoteI would take "some crazed baptist" as quite a PA. That would be quite a stretch since I was talking about the same jerks that don't even own a bike that I bump into at bars. QuoteI've not "preached" to you about anything. Sorry to tell you but the world doesn't revolve around you and I wasn't talking about you. Quotethe profits of an American company stay in the American economy - or at least they did when they actually made a profit! Which are in turn used to build more plants outside the US. Either way it really doesn't matter. In a global economy that money goes everywhere, that was the overall point in my frustration with certain people who bring up stuff like that when talking about a product.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Jewels 0 #30 August 8, 2008 The fact that I even know what an MV Agusta is is amazing in itself. Getting to tell my friend Troy about the news first . . . AWESOME. Thanks for the update, Squeak! TPM Sister #

Jewels 0 #32 August 8, 2008 NICE. That looks like fun. Do all MV Agustas have four exhaust pipes in the back? That's the only real clue I know to look for to identify them (assuming you aren't where you can read the big "MV Agusta" on the side of the bike).TPM Sister #

Jewels 0 #36 August 8, 2008 You don't have to have that answer. I was just curious. All I know is that I really like being on the back of his Ducati. Beyond that, I'm learning about motorcycles SLOWLY. Engines sound different because they're constructed on different principles, different exhaust configurations result in different kinds of power, blah, blah, blah. I don't know the details. I still need very basic identifiers! TPM Sister #

If I have this right, I think Troy said that they're the only ones to have that configuration.TPM Sister #
