gonzalesna 1 #1 August 3, 2008 My bike died 2 weeks ago today as a result of blind drivers. Watch your ass, bikers. They ARE trying to kill you. Before and after pictures soon to be added. You may now return to your regularly scheduled postwhoring. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Gawain 0 #2 August 3, 2008 Are you uninjured (hopefully)? What was it? A negligent left-turn in front of you?So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! DavidB 0 #4 August 3, 2008 That's why I quit riding on the streets back in 1974; too many blind drivers! I can only imagine what it's like today with more cars on the road & nearly half the drivers yacking on the phone as they drive... Also lost a couple really nice cars to blind drivers making left turns. First a nice 66 Charger Thanksgiving weekend 1982, then a rust-free 74 Dart in Aug '93. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
gonzalesna 1 #5 August 3, 2008 QuoteAre you uninjured (hopefully)? What was it? A negligent left-turn in front of you? Ya hit the nail on the head. Lady never stopped either. I dodged the car, but I hit a bush hog when I went into the grass and tried to ride it out. Hit the damn thing at 45 miles an hour, but all I got were some facial abbrasions and I strained my thumb. (Probably from holding onto the handlebars when I went over the top.) Facial abbrasions are pretty much all healed up now. Thumb still hurts, but I can use it.Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie. Squeak 17 #7 August 8, 2008 with the shorter wheel base it will turn quicker in the corners now You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
gonzalesna 1 #8 August 8, 2008 Quote with the shorter wheel base it will turn quicker in the corners now The problem is that it'll only turn well in one direction... The forks are bent so far, the frame's in the way of turning it any other direction than right. Some people refrain from beating a dead horse.
