Yeah, that was the greatest relay race of all time in the pool. Lezak was unbelievable. 50 meters to go and half a second behind the fucking world record holder in the 100 free and he runs him down at the end. Damn.... Alain - "Oh, the Americans? We are going to crush them!" Phelps - "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" That said it all! The Americans had never lost the gold in the 4x100 free, and Gary Hall, Jr. ran his mouth. The point? Shut your mouth and do your job. Now, Bernard was gracious afterward. And there is some discussion about whether the French team - and particularly Bernard - choked. I'm sorry, but swimming a time that is almost 4 seconds faster than the previous world record cannot ever be considered a choke. Bernard swam the fastest 50 meters ever, I think, but Lezak swam the fastest 100 split ever - by over a second. I think that it was an amazing race where every swimmer out there gave more than they thought they were capable of giving. Four or five world records in one swim tends to show that. My wife is hotter than your wife.
 tigra 0 #18 August 11, 2008 The best part was the commentary- all along they kept saying the US team just couldn't win and at that final turn, they were saying Lezak was going to have to fight just to hang on to 2nd place, then all the sudden it was like they actually looked and saw what was happening- they were as shocked as the French team! ............. Amazing race, amazing final leg .............. Lezak let Bernard (?) do all the hard work and made his move at just the right time.
