fireballgrl 0 #1 August 11, 2008 Ok... so Im taking a minute to breathe here but this is ridiculous and I am not exactly sure how such a "mistake" could be made!! http://www.dropzone.com/fatalities/Detailed/345.shtml Under the fatality listings my home dz (Skydive Kansas City) is listed as the dropzone for the recent tail strike incident at the St Louis Skydiving Center (Bowling Green)!! WTF? I'm not even seeing how the business names Skydive Kansas City and the Saint Louis Skydiving Center even remotely can be confused!! Skydive Kansas City has NEVER had a fatality in the ten years since they opened their door. First time jumpers search dz.com and Im sure some stumble upon the fatality listings. Makes my dz looks like liars when we state that we are a fatality free dropzone. I would like to know who reported this incident... and more importantly who is going to fix such a gross mistatement
wildcard451 0 #2 August 11, 2008 PM the mod of the incidents forum. They should be able to fix it. And calm down.
fireballgrl 0 #3 August 11, 2008 Just dont see how my dz and one that was 250 miles away were confused
fireballgrl 0 #4 August 11, 2008 After looking at the way a dz is chosen in reporting incidents (drop down alphabetical menu) I am even more baffled about this mistake. Unless the mods that approved it made it...
PhreeZone 20 #5 August 11, 2008 I did it. Its fixed now (and will reflect that at the next update in 24-72 hours). I am the only one that enters in the data in there for 85% of the incidents and between the moderating, and my job every once and a while I'll make mistakes. That is why there is a "Contact" button on the page to correct any info that is wrong. It was nice to recieve multiple complaints via that form this morning and this post telling me that it was wrong and demanding to have corrected and wanting to know who was responcible for this error. Its amazing that the entry has been up there for over a month and no one said anything and since noon today I';ve had 4 people yell at me to change it. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

CSpenceFLY 1 #8 August 11, 2008 If I were them I wouldn't go around tooting the no fatality horn. That shit can change in a heartbeat and it can be no fault of theirs. I wonder when it happens if they will change the website to read "Only one fatality in x number of years"? It's kind of like USPA patting themselves on the back last year because of the low fatality count for '07. Haven't heard shit out of them this year have we? Vote two here for PM a Mod, get it fixed and chill out. I'm sure it was not done on purpose.
