BillyVance 35 #1 August 13, 2008 Unbelievable. Phelps' total haul to date: 5 events. 5 world records. 5 gold medals. On top of that, he swam more than 5 fucking miles yesterday, including warm ups and warm downs! Not even a goggle malfunction could stop him in his individual race last night. What planet is he from? My hat's off to him. I don't think we'll ever see another guy like him again. Well, maybe not in my life-time."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

simplyputsi 0 #3 August 13, 2008 You'd be surprised at how much a professional swimmer/athlete swims each day. I know swimmers that warm up with a mile swim, it's ridic.Skymama's #2 stalker -

I've seen an indepth look at his training regimen. Holy fuck, it's insane! Even more crazy is how much the dude eats. porpoishead 8 #5 August 13, 2008 I dont get the big issue in blood doping. it's not like theyre banging up drugs. let them all bang blood then see who the real beast is.if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell
skymama 37 #6 August 13, 2008 There have been stories done about how odd his body is compared to everyone else. Of course, it works to his advantage. His size 14 feet can flex 15% more than the normal person, which acts as flippers for him. His arm span is huge and he works out 5 hours a day. I'd be surprised if he is doping. I think it's good genes and hard work. I'm really enjoying watching him!She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Blood doping does give you an advantage. Just look at the Tour De France. I'm not sure if it would help at speed events but for endurance, yes."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

When he was say, 11 years old, his coach told his parents that he had great potential to do things nobody has ever done. porpoishead 8 #11 August 13, 2008 blood doping 100% certainly gives you an advantage in swimming. but my point is that blood plasma is not a drug. pretty soon they will ban electrolytes/gatorade because it enhances performanceif you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell
jamiem 1 #12 August 13, 2008 I think the thing that amazes me about him is his flip turns! I heard he practices those for like two hours a day alone. If you watch him in a race that is where he kills everyone, on the turns!

I'm pretty sure he's one of the athletes participating in a voluntary anti-doping program that involves regular and frequent testing. If he is doping, its with some new and different substance they don't screen for.

I'm pretty sure he's one of the athletes participating in a voluntary anti-doping program that involves regular and frequent testing. Dara Torres, the 41 year old Olympic swimmer, heard rumors that critics believed she had to be doping in some manner, so she volunteered to get herself tested regularly well before the Olympics, just to prove them wrong. She does have "approved" drugs that she takes for her asthma, but all that does is put her on an even keel with others who have full use of their lungs. She's tested negative every time."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
