BillyVance 34 #28 August 12, 2008 Quote When Terrell Owens went to the Cowboys. I can't stand that arrogant bastard. E-A-G-L-E-S! Eagles! I loved it when Terrell Owens got creamed from behind by former University of Alabama and Dallas Cowboy DB George Teague for dancing on the Dallas Star after scoring a touchdown. THAT was classic! BillyVance 34 #30 August 12, 2008 Quote January 30, 2000 Superbowl XXXIV When the St. Louis Rams beat the Tennessee Titans. Oh yeah, I still remember that one. Titans got stopped on the one yard line with no time left with the game on the line. FreeflyChile 0 #31 August 12, 2008 Though I thoroughly enjoyed (like many Chicagoans) the Bulls of the 90s, I don't think that I ever liked following the NBA as much as I enjoy watching college basketball now. Therefore, my favorite moment has to be the Elite 8 game between my beloved Illini and Arizona from 2005, played at the Allstate Arena. That comeback was unbelievable and still gives me chills to think about.
bluepill 0 #32 August 12, 2008 A more recent favourite would be England beating Australia in their own back yard at the 2003 Rugby world cup final. It was a close match and went into extra time. Johnny Wilkinson drop kicked a goal in the dieing seconds of extra time to win. Apart from the joy of winning, in those days I was built and looked similar to one of the England players. And Rugby player types were the latest fashion accessory for girls in the U. I had alot of fun. BP

livendive 8 #45 August 12, 2008 Quote Tony Hawk landing the first 900 in the half pipe. attempt after attempt, beating after beating, the pressure, and just the overall atmosphere of the moment was something amazing to me Oooh...I'd forgotten about that one too. That one is near the top of my list. The Tin Cup nature of it made it even better. Also Rulon Gardner beating Alexander Karelin in the 2000 Olympics. Karelin had won the gold in three consecutive Olympics (88, 92, and 96), 9 consecutive world titles, hadn't lost a match of any sort since the '87 Soviet championship, hadn't ever lost an international match, and hadn't had a single point scored on him in 10 years. Gardner was a farmer who'd lost to Karelin 5-0 in the '97 world championship...nobody besides himself gave him a chance. With six seconds left in the match and Gardner hanging on to his 1-0 lead, Karelin dropped his hands, stared at his opponent, and conceded the defeat. And yes, the commentator used the same line, "Do you believe in miracles?!" Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" Shotgun 1 #48 August 12, 2008 I don't really follow any sports, so I guess I don't have a favorite sporting moment. But I am currently reading John Bertrand's Born to Win, where he talks about his team's 1983 winning of the America's Cup. Which sounds like it was a pretty cool moment, since that was the first time in about 130 years that anyone beat the American team.
