bigway 4 #2 August 20, 2008 Very Special moment taking Michael Johnson's record. Awesome race. See how hard he worked that corner. Took that USA runner a bit of time after he was celebrating to the cameras and dancing to realise he was actually disqualified. I think i saw a camera man actually telling the guy who won bronze that he in fact had so. That was super fast. Loved it! .Karnage Krew Gear Store . lawrocket 3 #5 August 20, 2008 Bolt's talent is just sick. He doesn't run so much as he glides. It's like he is just toying with the other athletes out there. He's simply amazing. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Maxx 1 #6 August 20, 2008 He is "jogging" a World Record without a warmup with open shoelaces and a slow down before the race is over.. WTF? I'm talking about the 100m here.. This man is either an undercover superhero or doped. I'm betting the first is right...

With about 20 meters left to go in the 100m, he looked around, saw he was WAY out ahead and started to decelerate. To me that's not even conceivable. Normally you push until after you've crossed the line, but he KNEW he didn't have to. There's a certain amount of arrogance going on there to be sure, but holy crap.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

He certainly didn't do it at the 200 m race, so he may have taken some of the comments to heart.

PLFKING 4 #12 August 21, 2008 QuoteThere's a certain amount of arrogance going on there to be sure, but holy crap. Arrogance and stupidity both, in my opinion. Trains for years for his moment in the 100, then doesn't even run through the tape ? He could have easily done a 9.4 something and set a record that probably wouldn't have been broken for decades, AND won his gold. PhreeZone 20 #13 August 21, 2008 He only moved to the 100 in the last 2 years, he was a 400 meter sprinter before and discovered he's got a gift for the shorter distances partially since he got tried of all the extra training the 400 meter runners needed to do. (I didnt see the race) I'd be shocked if anybody could beat Usain's records, 100 or 200, except Usain himself. I do believe that Usain WILL, in fact, lower his own 100 meter record in the near future if he would actually go full speed straight through the finish line. He had already stated before his 100 final that he just wanted to win gold, period. Who knew he was gonna set a new record coasting the last 15 meters? We should be seeing him at the next two Olympics, or at least at London, pushing the records down to maybe a 9.5 in the 100 and 19.15 in the 200, for all I know. If he gets them down there, nobody within my lifetime is gonna do better. I have to admit when Michael Johnson absolutely destroyed the 200 meter world record 12 years ago by some 3/10s of a second that it would stand for decades."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
