However, you can also be blindsided and then you not only have to figure out what to do to "fix" it but also what went wrong and what can prevent or minimize it from happening again. The car analogy is a good one: Sure one can drive a car not doing any maintenance, ignoring the warning lights and sounds until it totally breaks down but at that point they've probably got huge and expensive repairs that may cause one to deem the car not worth repairing so they get another car and start the cycle again. They may even wonder, "Why do the cars I get always break down on me for no reason? Why can't I find a good car?" However if one does regular maintenance, watches for warning signs or changes and addresses them when they first spot them that car can last a very long time. IMO, anyone who is happy all of the time is either in denial or ignorant and not "truly" happy. They may think they are or fool themselves into thinking they are. To be truly happy you must deal with things as they happen and recognize that it is okay to express emotions other than happiness. When something happens just deal with it emotionally, resolve it in your mind and move on.
