I did see that and think its a good relevant document.. but I think there are many people who have more jumps than required that cannot do this http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/safety/detail_page.cgi?ID=47#crosswind Which I feel is more important. Under currency it only explains if you jump 100 or less a year.. at the rate I’m going now I'll be around 400 jumps this year. I feel like I sound defensive.. I don’t want to come off that way.. I just wanted to know if it was hard to find container combinations like the ones I was looking at.. I have found something and am very happy now. With the price I got it at if I decide to sell it in the next few years for whatever reason.. I should be able to get almost what I have into it. The only thing on the rig that is not new is the cypress. She gave me choices on colors of the canopy.. the one I picked was brand new.. so.. Looks like the packers are going to have fun with this for a while

NelKel 0 #30 December 21, 2005 I don't think I could if I wanted to, I just wanted you to understand that I wasn't trying to. I want you to understand your WL may be a little high for your experience, your getting gear you did not want (170 instead of 168) no AAD, almost exceeding budget. You state your gonna have 400 jumps next year, are you sure that "well I'm going to grow into it" is a good/safe statment. Did you read what Remstrer wrote? You asked for advice on used gear I gave it with a smily face and stated I don't want to flame. Why would you ask me too? Enjoy your purchase, have fun. I hope to see you in the sky someday. tso-d_chris 0 #31 December 21, 2005 QuoteI have been looking for gear since I have figured out what size canopy I was going to commit to for a while.. Everything I have found has been more than 4k.. If Im going to pay 4500.. why not buy new? I found something for 45.. but I think it’s a little to much for something made in 02 My budget is 3kish.. If I found a great deal on somthing.. I could bring it up to 4.. but it has to be perfect for that.. Im 5 10 170 looking for fully articulated with 17" main lift web.. that’s at least what I have been jumping and for the most part it fits pretty good. I want to buy a pilot 168 to jump for a while.. but want the option to downsize to Pre 150.. So I think something that is made for a 150 will work Do you think I’m asking to much? thanks I would recommend buying a new container, and used canopies. Wings are a fantastic value without giving up any quality. Infinities are also a good value, although they are a little higher. Used containers can be difficult to both find and sell. There are three sizes that all have to match: the reserve container size, the main container size and the harness size. If any of them don't match the potential buyer, it is not a very good deal, no matter how good the price. Used canopies are a bit easier to find, although the sizes you are talking about are in high demand, and hold their resale value well. You can expect to spend top dollar, even for used. The flip side is if you do end up buying new canopies, they will likely hold their resale value well. When you are buying used gear, don't rush the process. Make sure you are getting what you want. If you buy the wrong equipment, it can be a costly mistake, even if you got a good price. Good luck. For Great Deals on Gear

jumper03 0 #33 December 21, 2005 Quotesome packers at Perris will refuse to pack it for you (trust me on this one; they've refused to pack my Spectre 170 into a container that was built for a 170 because "it's too tight" ). weak packers..... I'll pack if for you any day. Scars remind us that the past is real

Big Nelli out...... I ended up getting a brand new container (Mirage), new reserve (pd 160), new Main (pilot 168) , a slightly used cypress rigged and delivered for 4299. I’m pretty happy about it as I have seen this same set up with a few years on them for 4500+ .. The flaming part of my last post with just for fun.... As far as grow into it.. I’m jumping that system as a rental now.. I was going to grow into the potential of downsizing in the future if I decide to take that route.. The 400 jump comment was just to state that Im pretty current and if I continue to jump at the rate I have been.. I'll have at least 400 in my first year.. I’m in Perris about 2 times a week..Now that I will have my own rig.. I will be able to go to other DZ's.. If you going out please Let me know.. It would be fun to jump some day.
