CSpenceFLY 1 #1 August 25, 2008 I was out cutting my pasture till the rain got a bit too heavy so I decided to wash the cars. Cuts down on rinse time. Out of nowhere there was a bolt of lightning. It was close enough that after it was gone you could see a trail through the clouds where the lightning vaporized the water in the cloud. Cool as hell. I'm confused, though, because I thought a cloud was "water vapor". Or is it considered liquid that's condensed into droplets? I saw three streaks Perseid Meteor Shower a few weeks ago, and the last of them was out over the ocean off the beach, and after it went by, I could see what appeared to be some sort of vapor trail! (not the glowing trail of the meteorite itself, but something left behind afterward) It was pretty cool, too.Spirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire

Perhaps you should reconsider your choice to wash your cars during a rain storm. iluvtofly 0 #11 August 25, 2008 It's this thing we have up north that keeps our lakes, rivers and pools filled. It also has a way of cooling things down if it gets too hot and/or humid.

mamajumps 0 #14 August 25, 2008 Lightining is really cool, I love watching it. However, my mom will no longer agree with me on that. When I was around 12 or so, she was taking a bath and lightining struck literally right outside the bathroom window, left a hole in the ground and about a 4ft circumfrence of burnt grass.... spooky shit...
