JSE 1 #27 August 26, 2008 Its funny that you mention My Cousin Vinny. I think we watched clips of that movie in at least two of my law school classes - although it was mostly for levity at the end of the semester. Seem to rememeber clips from A Civil Action also being shown at one point or another. The discovery prof loved to constantly remind us that in real life its not like LA Law. Nothing on TV or movies is every like real life. Not even reality TV. They did try a reality TV show about attorneys once. It was too boring to watch a bunch of associates with their heads in books all day so it got canceled almost immediately.

So you are saying My Cousin Vinny is the Fandango for the legal profession?"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Interesting how they throw some actual phrases and slang we use in various places throughout the film. somebody did some research. some of their equipment and technique was completely unrealistic though. love the kirby morgan movie star helmets they dove with the lights inside. why would you need lights on your face if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell

downwardspiral 0 #34 August 26, 2008 Full Metal Jacket is pretty accurate for USMC bootcamp....for the most part. Of course the part of Gunny Hartmann was played by a former Marine drill instructor by the name of Gunny R. Lee Ermey. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._Lee_Ermey Also a friend of mine is an LAPD officer in Watts and says "The Shield" most accurately depicts law enforcement in LA which is fucking scary. Apparently Chicago too..... http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com/2007/10/chicago-police-department-perpetual.htmlwww.FourWheelerHB.com
futuredivot 0 #35 August 26, 2008 I don't know of a movie for my present job but back when I was playing fireman a bunch of us were watching "Backdraft" at the station one night. When the scene came where Kurt Russell was holding on to the guy over the precipice, I hit the mute button and said "If you go-we all drink to your memory" You are only as strong as the prey you devour
