My mother still gives me money for my birthday and for Christmas. I'm 42. I'll be sad if she ever stops, because I'll know the dementia is real.

I'm still getting money from my folks. But you know what they say, it's nice to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I've never asked my parents for financial help. If I had a problem, I dealt with it myself. Still, it's nice to get something from them.

Like most who have posted, I still receive the check in the card. In addition, my mom likes to buy presents also, so we have something to unwrap. This year in addition to the check, I received clothing because I lost so much weight.

I turned 30 2 Mondays ago and my parents paid for AFF 1. That's better than cash even though that's what I'd have spent cash on. It's nice that they support it considering that I've talked to more than a few people who have families that think they're insane for wanting to jump out of planes.
