aresye 0 #27 September 5, 2008 If you're close to the Tampa, FL area, then I strongly suggest attending the SEAL Strong 36-Hour Challenge. It was designed by a SEAL instructor, and originally intended to help prepare civilians who are about to go into SEAL training active duty. It has been expanded to not just help those guys out, but for anybody wanting to test their strength/endurance, and find out how much farther you can push yourself than you think you can go. If not, you can just do CrossFit workouts for 36-Hours straight. Ouch. Had a fever last week. While messed up from that, I decided to do Murph: For Time: Run 1mi 100 Pullups 200 Pushups 300 Squats Run 1mi Partition the pullups, pushups, and squats as needed. If you have a 20lb weight vest or body armor, wear it.Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours.
ladydyver 0 #28 September 5, 2008 yep...I figure Acme must be busy. My routine. Physical therapy on mondays and now thursdays.....which usually kicks my ass. Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun.....go to gym although I usually take one of these days off. I ride the bike for 10 minutes, then recumbant bicycle for 15 minutes...then walk on the treadmill backwards with a 6% grade and 2 mph for 10 minutes. Ball therapy for stretching, pool therapy for more stretching and then swimming laps. Then in the hot tub to do my pool therapy in there (that is my favorite part). Usually go to the gym grumpy but leave in a good mood and the knee is doing well. Saw ortho yesterday and will be fitted for my jumping splint in october. He will see me again in 3 months. Last year at this time I was a size 14 and am now a size 8 - even went jeans shopping last week As for my recovery....they said i am between 6-8 weeks ahead of schedule. - still grounded for a while anyway. Nightingale 0 #31 September 6, 2008 Yeah, I was tired after class yesterday, but dragged myself onto the exercise machine today, and I'm glad I did. =)
aresye 0 #32 September 6, 2008 I knew something was up behind those minds at CrossFit. We've never had 2 strength days in a row, with high weight, low reps, and high rest times. Then a 3rd strength day came up, and I got worried. Today was a rest day, and I check the site for tomorrow's WOD. Sure enough, my fears were warrented, as tomorrow is Linda, the #1 most brutal CF workout conceived. Ack!Skydiving: You either learn from other's mistakes, or they'll learn from yours. It'll probably take me a week or so to get back into the groove, but you'll see some more posts like that in the very near future."If at first you don't succeed... well, so much for skydiving." - aviation cliche

Nightingale 0 #35 September 6, 2008 I have seen the human body do amazing things when the mind is behind it. You can do it! Remember, for your first marathon, your only goal is to finish.
