LuckyMcSwervy 0 #1 September 6, 2008 I hear the rain pounding down now. It's going to be a crappy night. I hope anyone out in the bad weather takes care! It's a Tropical Storm Warning here (I'm in Atlantic County). I usually love the bad weather, but this one seems like it is going to dump a ton of rain and some high winds to go along with it. I didn't have much storm prep to do since I had my pool closed yesterday -- whew! I moved all of the patio furniture next to my house and put the cushions away so they won't get soaked. Other than that, I guess I'm good. And my cat always takes off to hide at the first crack of thunder. What's up with that??? Always be kinder than you feel. BillyVance 35 #2 September 6, 2008 My mother-in-law is in Myrtle Beach, SC. She's getting the brunt of this tropical storm. I see a huge gap between the outer band over NJ and the main circulation over eastern GA, SC, and NC but that's just the precipitation..."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

RALFFERS 0 #11 September 6, 2008 I think I'm a freak... I love storms (not hurricanes, tornado's or the alike of course.) Rain, wind - it's all good. Oh, and lightening... As long as no 1 gets hurt though. Seriously, I don't know what it is about storms that I find so peaceful and calming. Stay safe out there people! Muenkel 0 #13 September 6, 2008 It's heading my way. I don't expect it to be too bad as it moves further north. It's supposed to still be a tropical storm though. Faye as a tropical storm wasn't too nice to Florida. _________________________________________ Chris

DavidB 0 #19 September 6, 2008 Round 1 today only left us with 1.25" of rain. Round 2 started about a half hour ago here in northern Burlco & I expect another 2" or so. DavidB 0 #21 September 6, 2008 We got lucky here. Only 1.25" of rain this time, for a 2.5" total. It's moving fast enough we didn't get the backlash I expected. When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
Muenkel 0 #22 September 7, 2008 That's encouraging. I'm in New England. According to our weather forecasters, the brunt of the storm is supposed to hit around midnight and after. They said up to 50mph sustained winds with possible stronger gusts and possibly several inches of rain. I guess it all depends on where exactly you are in relation to the storm. I'm not complaining though. I could be on the Gulf Coast. _________________________________________ Chris
diverdriver 7 #23 September 7, 2008 I had to fly through that TS 3 times yesterday. It sucked. PHL to DCA to ALB ...delayed...delayed until TS reached PHL then ALB-PHL. Ugh. Sucked. Weird thing was it was smooth IN the rain and once you exited the rain the turbulence got you.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

I moved all of the patio furniture next to my house and put the cushions away so they won't get soaked. The best alternative that I have found is to just throw the patio furniture into the pool. It will sit on the bottom and not blow around. Also the chlorine will clean up the pvc.
Muenkel 0 #25 September 8, 2008 I'm assuming if she had her pool closed that it has been covered. Makes it a little more complicated to throw the patio furniture into it.For my area, Hanna was nothing much. Certainly not what was forecasted. We had torrential rain, but wind was minimum. _________________________________________ Chris
