The Missing Child - The Power of TV . . .

Recommended Posts

In this Caylee Anthony case I saw this morning there is now a mob stationed outside the family home. And they showed one lady who grabbed a bag of their garbage declaring she was going to look through it for clues.

Is this what we've become?

We should all be concerned in these cases to some extent but it's easy to see what's at work here. It's that show Nancy Grace (Caylee - All the time!) that's working people up into a frenzy. It's sad that TV shows have this much power but on the weak minded it does. And it doesn't bode well for us. They are going to have their dead body eventually, but I'm not sure it will be Caylee's . . .

Though I hate to even post...regreatably, the angry mob more often seems to be the norm, than common sense and cool heads.

Whatever happened to MYOB. These people are not "helping" anything. Let the law enforcement people do their jobs. If they need you they will call you.

During the RNC, there were many demonstrations which were truly an embarrassement to society. Young people, tearing things up, and with no idea what they were for or against. It wasn't a political statement, it was a stupidity statement. Yet the media hyped it up and made it a cool thing to do.

Yeah, Nick, I believe that media fed frenzies are what a large part of our society lives for.

Yeah I have been keeping up with this... IMHO, Caylee is dead and now that her mother (term used loosely) is out of jail, she will off herself at her first given opportunity. IMHO, I think she Chloroformed Caylee for whatever reason, left her in the trunk and returned later to find a dead kid. God (literally) only knows what she did with her from that point. I believe there is a special place in hell for parents who kill their kids.

"this morning there is now a mob stationed outside the family home"

NOW?
Where have you been????
:D:S

Fist fight a few days ago, possible pending charges against the grandfather for pushing people off his property, people screaming in their faces, removal of a gun so Casey can't pop herself....it's simply unbelievable.

Cops won't keep them out of the neighborhood...but they'll gladly camp out and write tickets for parking violations and impeding flow.....:S
Gotta love Orange County....[:/]

Is it possible that someone from the media (Nancy Grace show) is anonymously posting her bail and paying for her body guards every time she gets hauled back in to jail on another charge? Strictly for the purpose of stirring up the crowd and keeping the media frenzy going?

I think its also possible that she sold or gave the child away but there does seem to be evidence leaning the other way- chloroform, cadaver sniffing dogs? Of course most of the information we get about the "evidence" against her is coming from the media as well, so who really knows?

It's because it has to do with a child. But put an adult victim in the story and no one wants to get involved.

BTW, if this gets moved to Speaker's I'm going to be so pissed. I don't even read in there, let alone post.;)

PHILADELPHIA — Police have arrested a man suspected of brutally attacking a dozing subway passenger with a hammer while other riders did nothing to stop the assault, the city's police commissioner said Wednesday.

The suspect, taken into custody in a mental institution late Tuesday, has a lengthy record of rape and other convictions, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said on NBC's "Today."

The victim was treated and released from a hospital.

Ramsey criticized other riders for standing by when the assailant entered the train with his 5-year-old son, directed the boy to a seat, calmly pulled a hammer from a backpack and attacked a man dozing in a nearby seat.

At least 10 other riders were in the car when the attack occurred last week, yet no one interfered as the man repeatedly struck the victim in the train car and later out on a platform, Ramsey said on "Today."

"They better pray they're never a victim, because if someone was attacking them that way they would certainly hope someone would step forward and help, and it starts with stepping forward and doing something yourself," Ramsey said.

Police had asked the public to help identify the attacker and released surveillance video showing the early Sept. 4 attack that was played repeatedly on Philadelphia television stations.

Philadelphia Cops Release Video of Subway Hammer Attack Police said the man was apprehended after family members called police. Ramsey did not identify the man or say whether he had been charged yet, but said he had a lengthy record.

"He has a long criminal history including rape, robbery, assault, narcotics violations," Ramsey said.

The suspect apparently had tried to hurt himself with the hammer following the attack on the subway. Family members said they were not initially aware of the attack, but had the suspect committed to the mental institution where he was taken into custody.

The victim, 20-year-old Dewayne Taylor, made his own way to a hospital and was treated for head and neck injuries. Taylor, who has been released from the hospital, said Tuesday he has no idea who the attacker is or why he was targeted.
