God I miss the BBC

Being an ex pat, an having lived in various different countries
I've come to the conclusion that the BBC is just about the best
television quality wise in the world.
It's drama, action and documentaries are with out a doubt
a cut above the rest.

I agree, I tried to hook a slingbox up to my brothers TV in the UK to watch it here, but it just didn't work out as planned. So I will have to settle for the US version of Life on Mars....:-(

I've tried that abroad and it does not seem to be available outside of the U.K

Actually you can watch the BBC Iplayer outside of the British Isles
you need a program like Hide IP NG then choose from thier list
a proxy server with a UK IP.

Give it another year or two and it will have dumbed down to the level of all the cheap, formulaic nonsense on the other channels.

I know what you're saying and mostly agree but have to pull you up on this one. Have you not noticed that America has rather overtaken the good old beeb when it comes to drama series? The budgets probably have several more noughts on the end which helps but -

The Bill The Wire et al

etc etc

I don't watch a lot of TV but if I do I know which of the above I'd rather be watching.
