birdlike 0 #1 September 11, 2008 OMG, these fish sticks are pretty tasty on their own, but SO much better with HOMEMADE tartar sauce! All it is, is mayo, lemon juice, diced pickle, and paprika. But it's incredibly good, and for some reason, so much better than the same exact thing from a jar. Anyway, that got me thinking. What things, like tartar sauce, that you could get from a store do you routinely make for yourself? Some that come to mind for me: - tartar sauce - honey mustard - beef jerky - basil pestoSpirits fly on dangerous missions Imaginations on fire
SpeedRacer 1 #2 September 11, 2008 My Mom bought me one of those chopper gadgets (basically a hand-turned food processor). It had a recipe for fresh salsa, which turned out WAAY better than that goopy stuff you get in the store. Oh, add these to the list: - HUMMUS (in an ordinary blender) - spinach dip - peanut butter (in an ordinary blender) "The best, Jerry -- the best!" When I was dating a little latin lady she always made her own salsa. Like you said it was sooo much better than the store crap. I wish I would have paid more attention so I would know how she made it.If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

I usually like to add some canned (or cooked off the cob) corn and black beans. I also generally include a splash of olive oil.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... LongWayToFall 0 #7 September 11, 2008 That sounds bomb. Salsa got me thinking about guacamole..... Mmmmmmmm. You can buy food heated up at the store, but sometimes I buy it cold and heat it up myself.
