SpeedRacer 1 #1 September 19, 2008 I skydived from 1999-2003 & then moved on, but I got to know people on this site and kept coming back. Also this is just about the funniest site on the web. But what I loved about skydiving wasn't just the skydiving, it was the people. That's why even though I don't still piss away all my $ & time on this very expensive sport, I still return to dz.com. Skydivers as people gave me something I was missing. I guess it is partly because I lived around Boston all my life, around many people who were very PC & politically fashionable. I felt restricted in some way around some of those people. Sometimes I just want to kick back & party & tell dirty jokes & have a drink or six & jump over fires (see pic) without judgemental assholes preaching politically-correct BS at me. I guess I never really fit in where I grew up. When I met skydivers I felt as though I'd come home. Plus I had experiences, both before & after the beerlight came on, that those sedate, PC folks back home will NEVER have. Anyway, party on! AggieDave 6 #2 September 19, 2008 Do you seriously think that the majority of jumpers here even do over 100 jumps a year? Nope, did a couple of poles on just this topic a while back. SpeedRacer 1 #11 September 19, 2008 Quote Why do people who no longer skydive post on a WEBSITE based around skydiving? OK, yeah, I should have said "WEBSITE" rather than "thread". I will see if it's not too late to edit it. ---(later)---- COOL! i was able to edit it. Now if they could only invent a "morning after I was drunk" editor, life would be perfect!
