quade 4 #27 September 22, 2008 QuoteQuoteQuoteI could use a 10-12 day get away. Start on the 29th, not really interested in making it a skydiving trip. Was thinking about an Amtrak rail pass as an idea. Anyone have any ideas? Have you ever seen 100,000 bats fly out of a cave at sunset? Yup...Carlsbad rocks!!! Yep, that was my suggestion. Depending on the time of year he's planning on vacationing though, bats are either in or out. They migrate away during the winter months and I think they start doing that in mid-late October. The cave is freekin' amazing though even without the bats.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

diablopilot 2 #29 September 22, 2008 That sounds nice. I had a good time diving in Africa a couple years ago, but I haven't dived since. I'm pretty sure that while fun, it's not fun enough to "float my boat" if you'll pardon the pun. I have decided on the Amtrak rail pass. Just planning the final details of the route, it's going to be a museum oriented trip, but I'm open to other points of interest. Cities I'm pretty sure to be seeing: Seattle Chicago Omaha Dayton New Orleans St. Louis Detroit (Dearborn) So if anyone has any ideas...... Edit: And I've got SCUBA gear for sale if anyone is interested. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
