masterblaster72 0 #1 December 5, 2005 I found a decent deal for a J2 Javelin DOM 1993 made for a 150. Seller is telling me that 170 is the biggest main that will fit in it. But it already has a Raven 181 reserve. Would a 181 reserve and a 170 main be too much for a container built for a 150 main? Or, if it fits, will I have a tough time packing it (or if packers do it for me, will they hate me)? Thanks! Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up.

FlyinseivLP2 0 #3 December 5, 2005 I had an older J2 with a raven 181 in it. I put a 170 in it a few times. Tight, but no problem. Give it a try before you buy.
skybytch 273 #4 December 6, 2005 Depends on where you jump. In a humid climate (like Florida), a 170 will likely be a snug fit but not unreasonably tight. In a drier climate (like Arizona or California) it will be unreasonably tight, won't be at all fun to pack, and packers may refuse to pack for you. tso-d_chris 0 #5 December 6, 2005 QuoteI found a decent deal for a J2 Javelin DOM 1993 made for a 150. It's only a decent deal if: 1. It fits you very well. 2. It fits your canopies well (sized for them, not just close) 3. You are in the market for a 12 year old container. 4. It is very inexpensive. Don't be in a rush to buy used gear. If you are patient, the right gear will come along. Don't buy the wrong gear just because it is available at an affordable price.
DelVillar 0 #6 September 14, 2014 I have a Javelin J2 and the biggest canopy it would take is a 170 but 7 cell because of the pack volume. Try getting a 7 cell canopy something like a triathlon, storm, spectre, ect.
