TKE_440 0 #1 September 25, 2008 So my parents are inviting myself and two older sisters with their immediate family to Disney World this Christmas, full expense paid. Only I opted not to go; multiple reasons, mainly don't want to be around my sisters for a week isolated from everyone else I know. So now I have a non-transferable plane ticket, just no where to go right now. Any suggestions?

ASTKU 1 #3 September 25, 2008 I did that freaking trip a few years ago for christmas. Got pressured into going. If I could have jumped the entire trip it would have been worth it. There are a bunch of nice DZs nearby. Just go rent a car and jump the whole time!!! Disney World annoys me!!!
skymama 37 #4 September 26, 2008 The most unselfish thing for you to do would be to go on the family trip for the holidays. Being a parent, I can tell you that would mean more than anything to your parents. All expenses paid- they obviously want you to be there. That said, talk to your parents and be honest about how spending some time away from the family during the trip might make it better for everyone. So, while they are at a theme park, you head off to the tunnel, the beach or one of the many dz's nearby. You can go to Sebastian, Deland, Lake Wales or Z-hills all as a day trip and then catch-up with your family at night. Make sure you do spend some time with them (Kennedy Space Center is very cool, talk them into that). Who knows, you might enjoy it. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

How about giving the ticket back to your parents so that they can get some kind of a refund from it. They gave it to you so you could join THE FAMILY on a vacation - not for you to use for something else for yourself only.
ifell 0 #6 September 26, 2008 Why not go with the family and take them to the tunnel? Just imagine the look on mom's face when all the wind picks her up!
TKE_440 0 #7 September 26, 2008 Tried to give it back, can't. Only I can use it or money lost. It is not just the whole family thing, I have to work, and this year was not the best year for me to do that. My mom completely understands. And both of my parents have done tandems before, and thinks it is cool as hell. So they would have had no problem with me skipping out to go jump. Wanna go somewhere maybe after Christmas, just not sure where.
