JohnRich 4 #1 September 29, 2008 Below is an e-mail I sent out to gun club members. But while these photos come from a gun range, this post is not intended to be about guns, so please refrain from discussion of that topic here, as this forum is not the place for that. Instead, this thread is about showing another example of the amazing power of high wind from a hurricane. The location is south of Houston, Texas. Hello Shooters. I know many of you are curious and concerned about the damage incurred by hurricane Ike at the Juliff range. (The Addicks range is still under water at this time.) This is a brief photo presentation of the Bayou Rifle Club hurricane work party at the Juliff range this Saturday. Just click on this web link: http://picasaweb.google.com/JohnRich3rd/BayouRifleClubHurricaneWorkParty# It's set up to display like a slideshow presentation. The photos have been downsized to about 100k each to go easy on your modems, and there are 24 photos, with explanatory captions. Go to the link, above, and click "slideshow". Then immediately go to the bottom of the screen and click on the plus-sign a few times to increase the number of seconds between images, or it'll zoom right past the first few without giving you time to see them. You can click the "back" arrow to back-up and see anything you missed. A lot of progress was made by the energetic work party, but a lot more remains to be done. - John Rich
Brains 2 #2 September 29, 2008 Thanks john, i have always been amazed by what gets destroyed and what goes untouched. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

JohnRich 4 #4 September 29, 2008 Quote You boys have a pretty nice gun range there John! Thank you. We'll be shooting in the sun again for a while, until we can get a new roof in place. But at least it's the time of year now when it's not so hot, and shade isn't as important as in the summer.
billeisele 130 #5 September 30, 2008 it is amazing what can get accomplished when folks go to work instead of waiting for the government to come and "save" them the NRA has grant money for these type projects, submit an application and see what happensGive one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
JohnRich 4 #6 September 30, 2008 Quoteit is amazing what can get accomplished when folks go to work instead of waiting for the government to come and "save" them Yep, when work needs to be done, we just put out a call for volunteers, state what needs to accomplished, and tell everyone to bring whatever tools they think will be required. And with a diverse membership from all walks of life, you get plenty of on-target knowledge, equipment, and manpower. Quotethe NRA has grant money for these type projects, submit an application and see what happens That's an interesting idea. I'll run it by the BOD and see if there's a possibility from that to re-build.
