mamajumps 0 #6 September 30, 2008 Yes, I am CPR certified Yes, my smoke detectors work no, I live in the middle of nowhere, I don't have curbs or anything else to put my house number on. My house sits way back off the road, so dunno if actually putting numbers on my house would work either....

flyangel2 2 #8 September 30, 2008 QuoteDo you know (recent) CPR? Do your smoke detectors work? Is your address easily visible from the street? ----- Just wondering.... Plus I know doggie and kitty CPR. The other night I was laying in bed thinking, Hummmm, it's that time of the year to change out the batteries on the smoke detectors. I need to remember to do that tomorrow. Later that night one of them started to "beep" at me. Why the hell do the batteries always go low and start beeping when you're alseep? I'm living way in the country right now, and have an address sign that lights up and is located at the driveway and road. I made sure you could find my place in the dark since I'm so far away from the police and fire department. BTW..............How are you doing? LOL I have stenciled storm drains (as a volunteer for community improvement thru my work). There are a number of Stencil kits available that look professional. Either way, get it done. AggieDave 6 #16 September 30, 2008 QuoteDo you know (recent) CPR? Do your smoke detectors work? Is your address easily visible from the street? Yup to all three! That's just a little too basic, IMO, but for most of society its a hard long road to get someone to simply do these three things. If I step outside to my car I also have an AED available, CPR mask with breathing/pump bag, Israeli bandages, Quick Clot, other first aid and other "basic" items in my Go Bag/Active Shooter Bag. I could go into more detail about my Go Bag, but then this thread would be moved to the SC, which would suck.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." LuckyMcSwervy 0 #17 September 30, 2008 Do you know (recent) CPR? I'm actually embarrased to say, "No." Do your smoke detectors work? Yep. And so does the carbon monoxide detectors. And so does the house security alarms. Is your address easily visible from the street? Yep. And it's visible on Google Earth, too. Always be kinder than you feel. Let my EMT certs and PHTLS expire a while back, but I have been getting that squirrel tail feeling again like I should challenge Paramedic and start riding again. Smoke Yes. Broke 0 #21 September 30, 2008 I am a CPR instructor. Numbers are easly read from the street. No I disabled my smoke detector because of my wood burning stove. It is always fun looking for an address that is blocked by bushes, and whatnot. Or even numbers that aren't there at all.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. councilman24 37 #22 September 30, 2008 An HOUR!!! Boy you must crack the whip to get him home that fast. I can spend a half an hour looking at stuff outside before I even get in the door! It doesn't help that Lowes, Home Depot and Menards all have different things I like and I can never remember which has which. So..... Have to go to all three!!!! I'm old for my age.
