found a dog today

Recommended Posts

On my way home from school today i noticed a small puppy tied to a stop sign at the intersection by my home.
Knowing the people that live in that home do not own a dog I thought it to be odd, so I called my wife and told her to walk down the block and meet me at the intersection.
She said she had just driven by that stop sign not 5 mins before me and there was no dog there at that time!
We found the little guy had been tied up with a pices of old nylon webbing, he was groomed and was a year old or less. the person dropping teh dog also left a cup of water with the dog.
My wife walked him home and we quickly found out why he may have been dropped off, the dog pissed on just about everything he could on the way up the street.
we called animal control to come get him, when the officer showed she got our info on what we found and while doing so the little dog pissed on her boot!
Outside of peeing on everything he could, the dog was very friendly, somewhat clean and had recently been given a haircut.
It is really sad that someone dumped him instead of working to solve his problems and why could they not have just taken him to a shelter instead of tying him to a stop sign?

Some shelters charge you to give up a dog, so its easier and cheaper to just leave the animal somewhere!

The local shelter charges $60 to give up a dog. That's the feed and live fee and part of the killing fee when no one wants your discarded family member!

Yeah some shelters do charge, but KC actually has several shelters that don't charge and they are no kill shelters. My wife and I donate money and sometimes material goods to at least two of these shelters.

Sounds to me like the dog might have health issues too :| Something making the poor guy have to pee all the time.

Yup, bladder or kidney infection. Easily cured with some antibiotics. Well hopefully that is all that is wrong. Sounds like it though.
